November Cards – Happy Holidays!

Hello Friends,

We had a group of 6 this month! I always like getting newcomers to class. This time we had two. One gal was a card maker – the other was a crafter, but had never done cards. It’s always fun to try new mediums! Here are our cards for the month!

merry-medley

This card was great – but in retrospect, not for a class. Cutting the fir branches out took WAY too long! Still, I think the card is super cute. I pretty much pulled this from the Holiday Catalog.

October Card Class

Well see … I am actually on time! I tend to have my classes at the end of the month.

This month was fun because a new person came to class. I always love that! I am really happy with the cards. I hope you will like them too! I am using more retired items. This is why – I want to use what I love. Also, SU makes so many cute holiday sets that I buy them but sometimes don’t get to them soon enough and then the season is over. I keep them in hopes to use them later – and here we are!

I have had this set for years. I loved it and although it retired, I couldn’t get rid of it. That being said, I never used it. I wasn’t sure what to do! Finally I found a sample on Split Coast Stampers that I liked enough to inspire me.

September Card Class

Ah… back at last. Late, like normal. I really can’t be the only one who consistently runs behind, right? As much as I love creating, sharing my cards with you on my blog and more – working the day job comes first. One of these days, when I grow up, I will be able to manage it all…… Not! I have taken liberty and used quite a few retired items.

Thankful Forest Friends

This card is one that did not photograph particularly well. I made it too light for some reason. In any case, it’s really pretty in person.

Stamps – Thankful Forest Friends (ret)

Ink – Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Markers

Paper –  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo and Cherry Cobbler card stock

Tools –  Layering Circles Framelits, Woodland Embossing folder

Extras – Gold Metallic Thread, Basic Jewels Pearls

I would like to go on record that I don’t particularly care for this years In-Colors. Dapper Denim is great and Emerald Envy is fine, but the rest remind me of the mumus that the Golden Girls used to wear. I have seen some beautiful things made with the colors but for some reason I just don’t get it. That being said … others DO like the colors so I am using them. This card had a lot of fussy cutting. My class attendees were surely cursing me under their breath! 馃檪

Swallowtail in Sugarplum

Stamps – Swallowtail (ret) and Floral Phrases

Ink – Sweet Sugarplum

Paper – Very Vanilla and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, Typeset DSP (ret)

Tools – Fluttering embossing folder

Ah … Halloween! I like Halloween, but I don’t love it. Maybe because we don’t have kids, I don’t fully grasp the simple joy of it all. I do however like seeing kids in their costumes and handing out candy. (I am not a total scrooge!) I guess I don’t know who to send my cards to – so I don’t make a lot of them. Still, I hope you like this one!

Jar of Haunts

Extras – 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon in Basic Black (ret)

Sympathy for Fur kids

Hello friends,

I have a lovely friend who lost her beloved dog, Princess, to the rainbow bridge. I am sure it was devastating for her even if her head knows that her pup is no longer ill or in pain. Those little furry things sure worm their way in to our hearts. I made this for she and her husband, hoping it brings a small amount of comfort.

August Card Class

Hi folks!

A little behind – as usual. I hope that as he first day of Autumn approaches, you are enjoying what this season brings. Many of you have your kids in school and are turning to Halloween as the first point in the holiday season. Even though I don’t have kids, I think of that as well. Although it’s hard for me to think about fall when it’s still a 100掳 out!

We had fun at class and made some cute (I think) cards! Enjoy!

This first one is from the set Thoughtful Branches, which was only available through August, or while supplies last. They still have some, so if you want this set, hurry! I was on the fence about getting items that were so temporary, yet I was really drawn to this. The set has a million stamps and these are just two.

I Like Your Face! Cheerful Critters

Hi friends –

These cards are just for funzies. There is hardly anything current on them and they don’t lend themselves to the new Holiday Catalog at all! That being said.. they were fun to make and I actually sent out a few. (gasp!) I won’t offer a list of materials because most of it is retired, but if you’re curious – let me know. 聽Enjoy!

Kid or Kid at Heart – cards!

Hello friends,

At the July card class, we focused on cards for kids. Big kids – little kids – it’s up to you. Historically, I don’t do many of these because I don’t have kids. I always worried that I wouldn’t know what to make and what is cool?? With some encouragement from my class attendees (and Pinterest), I planned these for class. I made them a bit easier than last time! Ha! I am really pleased and hope you like them too!

This first one is an easel card. I tried to choose gender neutral colors so that it could be given to a boy or a girl. Other than the style of card – pretty simple, but so cute!

Calling all Disney fans…. I don’t dislike Disney, I just don’t GO to Disneyland or been anywhere similar in years. I guess I better get on that! When my class saw these on Pinterest, they wanted to do this card. I added one or two small things, but otherwise, mine is pretty much a copy.聽I have to admit – LOVE!

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

Hello friends!

I have loved this paper forever. Instead of hoarding it, I need to use it! I am sure you all can relate. We all have our ‘save for a special occasion’ stash. Well, I challenge you to use it. Unless you are saving something for a specific event, quit saving it. There will always be new paper or ribbon or embellishments you like eventually. Free yourself from my affliction of …. hoarding! 馃檪

This card is chock full of retired items and contraband. YIKES! Once in a while – you just have to do it. I love these colors and they continue to be popular. You see it in clothing, baby stuff and home color schemes. Although my card is decidedly feminine, the colors work for everyone.

I plan on making a few so that I can give them to clients that I have helped buy a home – with a thank you inside. This one is for a new neighbor down the street.

Hello friends,

Happy July 4th! I hope you are celebrating our independence safely!

It’s been a while. Summer starts early in Arizona and people are busy, busy! I love the cards we made for class and hope that you do as well. There are so many new sets in the catalog to try! Today, not everything is new – but most is. I hope you enjoy!

On the first card I used the baby wipe technique to make your own ink pad with multiple colors.

Thank You Mystery Customer!

Some nice person placed a guest order with me and I have no idea who! While I am very grateful for the order, I am bummed because I don’t know who to thank. Stampin’ Up! values customer privacy and allows people to check out as guests. Perhaps some customers are concerned that they will be bugged by demonstrators to have a party or buy more. Maybe some just prefer as little of their info out on the Interwebs as possible. A valid point to be sure.

In any case – someone subscribed for Paper Pumpkin for 12 months so either they or a gift recipient is going to be a happy person!

Thank you to whomever (whoever?) you are!

Thank you for your order
